         i am so blessed to have such a wonderful, gentle, beautiful, kind mom. she loves being a mom so much, that she had five children--yes, five! after she had my little brother, when i was ten, they decided to have one so that he wouldn't grow up alone. selfless actions like that define my mom [and my daddy, of course]. she's always putting her children ahead of herself and thinks about us and our needs. needless to say, i've been blessed beyond measure. i love you mom!

last weekend was my birthday weekend and i'm so thankful that it falls on the same weekend as cinco de mayo. it made the whole weekend a celebration! not to mention: lots and lots of margaritas and mexican food--my fave.

i'm so thankful to have made it to my 24th year. i am beyond blessed!

the city of love.

lately i've been really missing france.
today i looked through sophie's photos from her trip to paris and it made me long for it even more.
the streets, the architecture, the beauty, the language, the food. oh, the food.
i can't believe it has almost been a year since i visited.

one of my favorite memories was wondering across the city and exploring little streets, bakeries, and shops with my two friends, richard and rachel.

may is my favorite month for many reasons:
1. the sun-shiny weather.
2. wearing cute dresses and sandals
3. sun-kissed skin
4. cinco de mayo!
5. my 24th birthday.
6. the boyfriend's birthday.
7. saying hello to summer break
8."it's just a happy month", says one of my 2nd graders....i couldn't agree more.

i have so many weddings to go to this year (my best friend gets married in 5 months!) and just about every week there is a new facebook friend getting engaged. the fever is catching on fast! because of  this, there are more wedding pins on pinterest...which ultimately leads me to create an elaborate fake pinterest wedding board. shh...don't tell lamar! 


i am in love with these bouquets! i love the mixture of different types of flowers. it gives it a just-went-out-back-and-picked-these-from-the-garden feel. it's a nice change from the red roses and fake pearls that we've seen since 1996.

 i made a pretty bouquet for my friends wedding shower a few months ago and i simply bought a mixture of flowers from kroger (yes, kroger) and arranged them in a bouquet. it was easy and really nice on my wallet. plus, i got lots of compliments! i'll probably end up making my own bouquets for my own wedding one day. i think it'd be a special touch. who needs to pay someone a bajillion dollars to do something you can do? exactly.

my best friend's engagement

i've mentioned, before, that i'm going to be my best friend's maid of honor this september. i am so excited for her and can't wait to take part in her day. here is the video of her now fiance proposing to her. they both live in baltimore [too far away from good ol' georgia] and he got his friends to convince lauren to help them "film a scene in a video" ...then it turns into a flash mob sort of thing and then....the ring! ok, i'm bad at explaining things. just watch.

i love brights so much this spring. i even went out and bought some neon pink slacks from gap! my 2nd graders will absolutely love them. i'll have to save them for a special day.

young the giant concert

yep, i held sameer's hand when he crowdsurfed! i think i'm in love.

it has been a month since lamar and i went to see young the giant and i'm still dreaming about it. literally....i've been having some dreams. we saw them for the first time this past summer at music midtown and fell in love with them! have you heard of them? i highly recommend seeing them if they come to your state. they put on an incredible show. plus, sameer is so handsome and talented. oh...

aren't they talented? and isn't sameer (the lead singer) smokin' hot? they are coming back to atlanta in may for party in the park. we already have tickets!
